I was at a friend's house a few days back, and I met his little brother. He wakes up, gets some food from the kitchen, goes back into his room, and never comes out. He's flunking school, and his social skills are only so-so. He didn't even say hello to me. You find a stranger in your house, and you're not even curious at the very least?

So, I've actually met a video game addict. And it was a terrible sight to see.

I got a free song as a promotion a few months ago. I thought, what's the big deal? It's free! The site was a slightly-less-popular mp3 store. I browse their limited selection of music until I found a track I liked.

I bought it with the coupon code and downloaded it. It was a DRMed wma file encoded at 192kbps, which I regard as the bare minimum for enjoying music on my setup. It wouldn't play in Foobar2000 (aka the best media player ever made) so I had to use WMP to listen. I then looked ...

Zandair I know you listen to jazz or something like that. After hooking up a (tube?) amp I found around the house and plugging them into my DT770s, music sounds MUCH better now. I have no clue why I didn't check out my smooth jazz collection earlier on this set-up. If you know what the term eargasm means (that rush you get when hearing something so good it relaxes your entire body), well I've had a lot of it after listening to some jazz on this rig.

So... what are your favorite jazz artists? ...

Hey Zandair, there's a synthpop singer called Lights that my friends are into. Her voice is I think the best I've ever heard, and I've heard a LOT of music. Lyrics are just a bunch of love songs, but I'll let her go because she's hot (I've heard way too many love songs over the past years)

February Air (people say this is her best song but I like Drive My Soul much better):

What Makes a Great Game

By Alex Higgins (Zandair)

Making a great game starts at design. A game that’s been poorly designed from the beginning is doomed to fail. Here we’ll be analyzing some of my favorite games and discovering what made them great, what made similar games rot, and then what you always should consider when making a game.

The Basics

http://www.silentworks.hu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2934

A sad day indeed.

I really wanted to see how far this could go... I support Zoltan's decision, but am nonetheless disappointed. I was done working with SW anyway, but after everything its taught me about good game design (things that I had previously be unable to learn with game maker) I can't help but feel sad.

What are your thoughts on it?

EDIT: Oooh... plutonium 3D... sweet...

I am curious to see what I get from you guys. I don't have much because I just chat online, code, or create graphics all day, but I still want to know...

In no order

1. Halo PC

2. Tribes Vengeance

3. Tribes 1

4. Unreal Tournament 2004

5. Battlefield 2142, which I haven't even played yet.

6. 007 Nightfire (sucks), bought for 2 bucks

7. Nexuiz

8. Team Fortress (haven't even played yet)

That's all I can remember. Most of my games are single player.

Original minigame, you have to reach the top floor of the tower within the time limit. You have 10 lives, and each time you die your previous life is replayed. The twist is that you have to work with all your previous lives to get to the top.
Pretty neat idea, I had to share it with you.

I wanted to run Linux for a little while now, but I didn't wish to reformat my harddrive. So, I found something that I didn't even know existed: virtual machines, which are NOT emulators.

I just followed the tutorial on the site, and I now have Linux running inside my XP.

Here's proof: http://static3.filefront.com/images/personal/j/jonsandacz/92442/xtwobomflf.jpg

The Ubuntu download is very steep: about 700MB, but I found and torrent for it, ...

Stories

Does anybody know any publisher companies? I like to write stories, and maybe I can write for ZS! Or at least we can have a little area with stories...

Or we can sell E-Books. 1 Dollar per story...

Maybe we should see if anybody likes my stories first...

You can find my first story on my DeviantArt. There isn't many pictures there yet, but I'll put more soon!
